I. Biosafety Level 2
Theory and Practicum
Pre-requisites: All laboratorians entering or working in a BSL2 facility with
active projects.
Trainer/student ratio: 1:2.
Course II-III. Biosafety Level 3/4
Theory
and Practicum
Pre-requisites: All laboratorians entering or working at a BSL3/BSL4 facility
with active projects. Laboratorians must have solid BSL2/BSL3 techniques and
practices.
Note: If during the BSL3/BSL4 assessment phase a trainee does not meet the minimum
skills and knowledge for the requested training level, the evaluators/trainers
reserve the right to reassess the level of training requested. The PI and/or
supervisor will be contacted immediately and a plan of action will be discussed.

Course IV-V. Biosafety Level 2/3
Theory
Biosafety theory is designed for the experienced laboratorians who are familiar
with the facilities and practices at BSL2/BSL3 but have never received formal
Biosafety training or wish to be refreshed on the material. The material presented
will pertain to the Biosafety level of the facilities and the related practices.
Specialized classes
Specialized classes are available and include:BSL4 training, topic specific teaching,
onsite training, group training, train the trainer classes, training initial
core staff to operate in a new facility, advice on setting up new facilities
or improving existing facility management and biosafety. |
